Do not switch off the power of this product or any hard disk connected during usage. Doing so may cause malfunctioning and data loss. |

Extra hard disks formatted in specified format must not be connected or disconnected while this product is operating, nor can they be used with other HDL-GXWs.
Make sure to follow the on-screen [disk deletion] steps before disconnecting.
Warning: once [disk deletion] is executed this product will be unusable even if re-connected. |

When carrying out check disk ensure the operation is completed before the next step. Do not switch off power during operation. |

When DHCP server is available this product will automatically acquire IP address from the DHCP server. There is no need to set individual IP address.
If no DHCP server is present (when each computer has a set IP address) then IP address must be set according to the network. |

In some cases IP address may not be obtained properly even if this product is connected to a network with DHCP server. In such case, set this product to its fixed IP address. |

Use this product over a local network.
It is extremely dangerous to allocate global IP address to this product and connect directly to the Internet. To ensure security, set up a router or use other measures to avoid being attacked on the Internet. |

IP address and [HDL-GXW Name] must be set separately when adding this product to a multiple network system, or combining it with other HDL-GXWs. |

The built-in hard disk contained in this product is specifically formatted and cannot be changed to other formats. |

| | Data Management of This Product and Additional Hard Disks. |  |

Users are recommended to back up data on additional hard disks periodically to avoid any data loss. We are not responsible for any data lost during operation of this product. |

Please note that the disk space used on additional hard disks shown on the on-screen setup for this product will differ greatly to the value allocated to network drives by Windows shown in the [Property] window.
This is the specification used in the Firmware display for this product, and is not a hard disk problem.
For the actual space used please refer to the on-screen setup for this product. |

The time required for the simple check of a hard disk performed from the on-screen setup will differ greatly according to the state and capacity of the hard disk.
The task should normally take very little time to complete. However, it may take up several minutes or longer depending on the state of the hard disk. |

Do not switch off this product or any of the additional hard disks while the [ACCESS] LED is flashing.
Doing so may cause hardware malfunctioning and data loss. |

The administrator of this product has full access right to all the shared folders. (when accessing from a Windows computer only)
To ensure security, the password used for accessing shared folders should be changed regularly. |

Files may not be properly copied if this product or additional hard disks are switched off while files are being copied.
Check the [ACCESS] LED on this product and additional hard disks before switching the power off. |

When copying files from Windows 98 to this product, if the task is terminated due to disconnection of the LAN cable or other factors, the incomplete copied file may remain undeletable on this product.
In that case, switch off the power, restart, delete the incomplete copied file, and re-copy the file. |
