Problems booting up this product
     
  > When power supply of this product is turned on, the [STATUS] LED flashes red and the buzzer sounds three times "beep, beep, beep".

Problems setting up (when connecting this product to network)

     
  > When Mac and Windows computers are used in the same environment, on which computer should the setup be executed?
     
  > When you do not know whether or not DHCP server exists in your present network environment.
     
  > (Windows)
This product is not detected by [Magical Finder]
     
  > Although DHCP server exists, the [STATUS] LED flashes red.
     
  > (Mac OS)
This product is directly connected but the setup screen for this product is not displayed.
     
  > The [STATUS] LED flashes red when the computer and the HDL-GXW are directly connected.
     
  > Changing the [HDL-GXW Name].
     
  > The [ACT/LINK] LED is not illuminated or flashing.
     
  > Unknown IP address of computer.

Problems accessing to this product

     
  > (Windows)
[HDL-GXW] is not found by [Search for Computers]
     
  > (Mac OS)
[HDL-GXW] is not found or can not be connected.
 
  > Not sure which port number to assign when permitting access to the HDL-GXW Series using Firewall software.
     
  > There are unfamiliar folders or files when accessing this product from Windows.
     
  > An error message is displayed when logging on to a user shared folder from a Windows XP computer.
     
  >
    
  >When deleting in Windows a file copied from Mac OS (regardless of the version) it becomes impossible to save the file to the shared folder of this product from Mac OS.
    
  >(Windows)
Is there a method for accessing to this product without searching the HDL-GXW every time?
Not sure how to assign the network drive.
    
  > There is a computer that can not access to HDL-GXW
(When other computers are already accessing HDL-GXW.)
    
  >Is there any limitation on the number of computers that can be connected to this product via network?
    

 

Problems relating to the setup screen
     
  > (Windows)
The setup screen is not displayed after this product is connected to the network.
     
  > (Mac OS)
The setup screen is not displayed after this product is connected to the network.
     
  > Some items on the setup screen are only partially displayed.
     
  > Problems entering text on the setup screen. (Restrictions of characters that can be entered in the setup screen).
     
  > Setup screen is not displayed due to failed password authentication.
     
  > Password for logging on in the setup screen unknown.
     
  > The following messages are displayed.
"The information file can not be read."
"The temporary file can not be deleted."etc

 

Problems using this product for mirroring
     
  > When power supply is turned on, the [STATUS] and [eSATA] LEDs continue to flash and the buzzer does not stop sounding.

 

IP address of this product

     
  > Forgetting the IP address set up for this product
Finding out the IP address set up for this product.

 

Saving files
     
  > Problems setting up attributes such as "Read only" or "readable/writable" for a file saved on this product.
     
  > Restrictions on file name or folder name.
     
  > (Windows Me/98 only)
When attempting to copy 4GB or 2GB files Windows hangs up.
     
  > Are deleted files placed temporarily in the "Trash Box"?
     
  > Is there a limitation on file size when a file is copied to a shared folder?
     

 

Indicator LEDs
 
  > The [STATUS] LED flashes red.

  > The [ACT/LINK] LED is not illuminated or flashing.

 

Backup function
     
  > Time required for backup.
     
  > Is only the updated data backed up when executing backup with the schedule setup?
     
  > Backup log mail is not transmitted with backup setup.
     
  > Error log was displayed in backup log.
     
  > Is it possible to hide the backup data?
     

 

Built-in and additional hard disks
     
  > Compatible hard disks for connecting with this product.
     
  > Are there any restrictions on formatting additional hard disk drive?
     
  > Accessing data stored on additional hard disks specifically formatted, when this product is out of order.
     
  > Is there a Defrag function?
     
  > The HDC-UXW series is not recognized when connected to the [eSATA port].
 
 

 

Time server

Problems synchronizing with time server.

 

MS domain
     
  > Problem participating in a domain.
     
  > Shared files become inaccessible when switching to domain mode
AppleShare network file sharing service or FTP service can not be selected when creating or changing a shared file in domain mode.
     

 

Network setup on computer
     
  > Unknown IP address of computer.
     
  > Unknown [Workgroup Name] of Windows computer.
     
  > (Windows XP/2000)
The [Local Area Connection] icon is marked with an "X".
