Backup log mail is not transmitted with backup setup.
Cause

The [TCP/IP Setting] is incorrect.

Solution

Select [Setup]-[Network]-[TCP/IP Setting], and set up [Default Gateway] and [DNS Server Address].

Set up the IP address of default gateway and DNS server with the same values as those set up in the computer.

Enter the IP address by following the steps below in the [TCP/IP setting] screen for this product, and check whether synchronization with the time server and transmission of log mail are possible or not.

Windows XP/2000

 

1 Select [Start]-[All Programs]-[Accessories]-[Command Prompt].

Enter "IPCONFIG -ALL" and press [Enter] key.

3 Check the IP address of [Default Gateway] and [DNS Servers].

 

Windows Me/98

 

1

Select [Start]-[Run].

2Enter "WINIPCFG" in the [Name] field and press [Enter] key.
3Check the IP address of [DNS Servers] and [Default Gateway].

 

Mac OS X

 

1Select [Apple Menu]-[Location] (or [Network Preferences...])-[Network Preferences...]
2In the [TCP/IP] screen, check the IP address of [Router] and [DNS server (Domain name server)]

Cause

Server (provider) on the mail receiving side is using "POP Before SMTP".
* Please inquire the provider or the administrator of the mail server whether "POP Before SMTP" is used.

Solution

Select [Setup]-[System]-[E-Mail Notification] and set up [POP before SMTP] to "Use", then, set up the POP server of the mail address to be used.

Cause

In [E-mail Basic settings], the [E-Mail Notification] function is disabled.

Solution

Enable the [E-Mail notification] function.
