Troubleshooting  
 
Unknown IP address of computer.

You can check the IP address of your computer by following methods below.

Method 1: Confirm using "Magical Finder" (Windows) or "Network" (Mac OS).
Method 2: Confirm using Windows standard tool (Windows only)

Method for checking the IP address of computer differs depending on the OS, click your OS shown below.

Checking in Windows
 
You can check the IP address of computer with the "Magical Finder" utility included.

Click [Start Magical Finder] in the Support software.
"Magical Finder" is started up.

If you are using Windows XP SP2 and the following screen is displayed, then click [Unblock].

If you accidentally closed the Support software or the Support software is not displayed.

Open [My Computer]

Double-click the "HDLGXWxxx"* icon
* xxx denotes the version of the support software

(If the support software is not displayed, double-click the [Autorun.exe]icon.)

It is also possible to start up after installing.

By installing "Magical Finder", you will be able to start up "Magical Finder" next time without using a CD-ROM.

After installing "Magical Finder", you can start it up by clicking the following in the [Start] menu in Windows.

[Start]-[All Programs]-[I-O DATA]-[Magical Finder]

Click the [IP Setup] button to automatically search for this product.

* It may take about 1-2 minutes from when the power supply of this product is turned on to the completion of search.

This product is not detected.

Solution 1 Wait for about 30 seconds, then click the [Refresh] button.
Solution 2 Refer to the following section.

Click the [OK] button without entering anything.

"The password is wrong " message is displayed.

Solution After clicking the [OK] button, refer to the following section.

The value shown in the [This system IP address] field located at the bottom of the screen is the value set up for this computer.

After confirming this value, close the screen by clicking the [Cancel] button.

This system IP address

Indicates the IP address, etc., of the computer used to start up this utility.

Network Interface

Indicates network interface of computer.

IP address

Indicates IP address of computer.

subnet mask

Indicates subnet mask of computer.

Default Gateway

Indicates Default Gateway of computer.
The IP address of the router is usually set up.

If Default Gateway has not been set up, it will not be indicated.

Checking is complete.

Checking in Mac OS X

Click [Location] (or [Network Environment])-[Network Preferences].

[Network] screen is displayed.
From [Show], select [Built-in Ethernet] or [Ethernet].
You can check the current IP address setting by clicking the [TCP/IP] tab in the screen displayed.
However, the setting is different depending on whether fixed IP address or DHCP server is used.

 

When using fixed IP address

[IP address] and [Subnet Mask] displayed are the values set to this computer.

When using DHCP server

[IP address] and [Subnet Mask] displayed are the values set to this computer.

When DHCP server is used, [Using DHCP] is selected usually in [Configure IPv4] (or [Configure]).

[IP address] and [Subnet Mask] displayed are the values obtained from the DHCP server (assigned from the DHCP server).

Method 2: Confirm using Windows standard tool (Windows only)

You can check such information as the computer IP address by using the Windows standard tool.

-Windows XP/2000

Select [Start]-[All Programs]-[Accessories]-[Command Prompt].

2 Enter IPCONFIG -ALL (put a space between G and -), and press the [Enter] key.
3The IP address of the computer can be found in the information displayed.
 


-Windows Me/98

Select [Start]-[Run].

2 Enter"WINIPCFG" in [Name] field and press the [Enter] key.

Select your LAN adapter name and click the [More info>>] button.

The IP address of this computer can be found in the information displayed.
