Setting up (Mac OS)...when DHCP server is unavailable.

Determining IP address of this product

To use this product to participate in the current network, it is necessary to set up the IP address of this product in advance.
This section describes the procedure for determining the IP address of this product based on the IP address of the computer connected to the network.
Follow the procedure on this page to determine the IP address of this product.

	If the IP address has already been determined, go to the next step.
	Connecting this product to the computer

Procedure for determining the IP address


		DO NOT connect this product to the network at this stage.

		While keeping the computer connected to the network, check network information such as the IP address.

Look up and write down the "IP address", "Subnet mask" and "Default gateway" of the computer in the network.

Use this IP address to determine the IP address of this product and write it down also.

For the "Subnet mask" and "Default gateway", write down the same values used by the computer. (Set up the same values as used by the computer).

How to determine the IP address

The IP address must meet the following conditions.

Conditions of IP address

The IP address must be a value that has the same segment (communication ready) as computer used
to access this product, and is not yet used in the network.

Ex.)

If the IP address of the computer is "192.168.1.101"...
The IP address of this product should be set as: 192.168.1.xxx
(xxx is a value that is not used in the network and within the range of 1-254)

In case of the following network, the IP address of this product can be set as "192.168.1.xxx"*1
*1 xxx is a value other than 101, 102 and 103. In the case shown below, 104 can be used.

After writing down this IP address, go to the next step.
